Our God is at work locally and globally, and so are we as we unite as a family of churches to plant churches everywhere for everyone.
We want to train planters to have a global mindset as they lead their churches to make disciples.
Send Network develops planters in nine essential qualities for faithful and effective ministry.
One of these essentials considers the nations: does the planter prioritize global engagement?
We want planters to be globally engaged in God’s mission around the world, and lead others to do the same by embracing the nations with proclamation and prayer.
So how does a church planter prioritize global engagement?
- He builds strategic global partnerships to engage in God’s mission and to mobilize the church.
- He leads the church to join in God’s global activity by praying for unreached. people and places, missionaries, and God’s glory among the nations.
- He gives generously and strategically to gospel-advancing partners.
- He participates in global mission trips to gain exposure to and experience in cross-cultural ministry.
- He sends individuals, teams, and long-term missionaries into cross-cultural ministry.
I believe every church planter should prioritize global engagement from the beginning days of the church plant because, as Vance Pitman says, “When God births a church, he has the nations on His heart.”
Even though the church planter will be focused on his city, he should still have a global vision, realizing that his church can also reach the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
